The
three Memory Support
Households at Brookestone Village are designed to provide maximum
independence and support for people with Alzheimer's Disease
or other related dementias. Activities are available throughout the day
to foster group participation and mutual support. The
enclosed, landscaped courtyards have walking trails so residents
can enjoy the outdoors in a safe, secure environment. Resident
Assistants lead group activities which are held in the country kitchens or living
rooms of each Memory Support Household, to ensure that
our residents stay active and alert.
Our Memory Support Team partners with
families to ensure personalized service and family
involvement. Each Resident Assistant is specially trained to
care for residents with memory loss - in addition to all other
aspects of care such as personal assistance, dietary needs,
activity therapy and social services. By getting to know the
special needs of our residents, our resident assistants create a calm,
secure household that enhances the strengths of each
individual.
Our resource library, located in the
parlor of the Memory Support Households, was developed so families
could learn more about the issue of aging, cognitive impairment and the treatment
for people with dementia. |
